Spark Gap - High voltage spark gap

The high voltage spark gap is an accessory used during the engine mechanics test. A high-voltage wire is connected to the arrester
or COP-ignition coil (Coil-On-Plug) of the cylinder being tested with the engine cylinder pressure sensor.

During the tests in the spark gap, a high-voltage pulse is discharged from the ignition system to the engine ground. These discharges contribute to radio interference. In order to suppress radio interference, the Spark Gap high voltage spark gap design uses a spark plug with an interference suppression resistor.

Before starting the engine, make sure that the electrical connections in the high-voltage circuit of the ignition system to which the adapter of the high-voltage extension cable / additional high-voltage wire / high-voltage arrester is connected are reliable, as well as that the spark gap is connected to the vehicle ground.
