The external optical crankshaft sensor is designed for diagnostics using the CSS script for engines that are not equipped with a standard crankshaft sensor. Works in conjunction with the USB Autoscope motor tester.
In order to use the Laser optical sensor, white optical marks will need to be applied to the crankshaft pulley, which will act as the teeth of the marker disk. Optical marks can be applied in various ways. It is most convenient to use either quick-drying white paint, such as stationery correction fluid, or white adhesive tape.
